I’ve been busy getting some footage together for a soon to be released short movie. You might recall my “Night preview” video – I’m still not set on the title but that’s what I’m working on. I’m hoping to make an awesome mixture of sights and sounds that is about 6-7 minutes in length. The theme has shifted from being solely night time images to encompassing space, time, memories, earth, nature, and people – hopefully all that comes together and [...]

Get Fit

Get Fit

I was down in Harrisonburg VA about a month ago and my girlfriend took me to check out this crossfit gym (or crossfit “box” as they say) she had joined. I thought it was a pretty cool place – lots of like minded people getting their workout on. What was different about this gym over others I have experienced was that although everyone there was really into working out, it was a really positive atmosphere. Nobody was ragging on somebody [...]

The beauty of teaching yourself

The beauty of teaching yourself

I love that I’ve had the opportunity to teach myself a variety of videography and editing skills over the past few months. I think that taking the time to learn and discover things on your own is one of the fundamental aspects of growth in almost any activity. Recently, I’ve been trying to figure out how to integrate 3D spaces into my videos with Adobe After Effects CS5.5. One thing led to another and now I feel as if a [...]

Sliced Bread shows its value again

Sliced Bread shows its value again

I followed my dodgeball friends to another tournament last week. Their team, Sliced Bread, achieved a fantastic 1st place finish again. This was while playing a man down the entire time too! I took a Canon 60D and a little tripod with me and captured some footage from a few different spots. Everything is on a 50mm prime lens shooting at 720p @ 60fps – pretty straightforward. The only “special” effect I used was a quick Adobe AE comp to [...]

D.I.Y. Video

D.I.Y. Video

A couple weeks ago, I had some tremendous issues with my editing computer – a 2011 27″ iMac. I happened to have a HD failure in the middle of post production for a large project I was working on for a client. This started a chain reaction of chaotic issues that I easily spent 50+ hours solving. It was terrible. One of the things I did after the technical madness settled down was put in an additional SSD (solid state [...]

SAM Soccer video

SAM Soccer video

I created this quick video for the Soccer Association of Montgomery based in Maryland. There isn’t too much to say here other than I used a Canon 60D w/ tripods and steadicams for almost all of the shots. Adobe Premiere Pro was used to edit all of the footage with a little bit of Final Cut Pro on the side. The music is from a section of the song Dinner Out (Rothrock remix) by Harry Gregson-Williams. Thanks for checking it [...]

  • Soccer Highlight Prototype

    Soccer Highlight Prototype

I love to capture motion. Shooting motion is a pretty broad area of interest because almost everything in our daily lives moves to some extent. Cars move, leaves move, clouds move, hell even trees move but what I find to be especially intriguing is the human body engaged in high levels of dynamic activity. Naturally, sports are a great venue for this type of imagery and in this case soccer (yes, yes or football) is the name of the game. [...]

    June-September 2011 Reel

So I thought that making a little showcase of some of my imagery would be beneficial for my business purposes. If you want to get the basic gist of my work rather than looking around my site, then here you go! A lot of it is regurgitated material chopped up to a new beat (Moon by Little People), but there are some tidbits of new stuff as well. I don’t think there is much else to say so… I hope [...]

    Timelapses Galore

Time has always been a wonder to me. As far as I know, it’s not anything that can be fully comprehended. Sure, we get older and the planets in the solar system move around the sun but what is time really? On a day-to-day basis as humans, we basically observe the passing of time by looking at clocks or the sun in the sky. What does the passing of time look like to a tree or a mountain? I’ve gotten [...]

  • New Vid Up

    New Vid Up

Last week I finished up a promotional video for Team Traveller, a cycling team based out of Lexington VA. I’m pretty happy with how it polished up so check it out now! Just kidding, you can keep reading if you want. This was one of those great opportunities where I was asked to do a job that not only provides money but also a fun subject matter to work with. Basically, I was asked to create a short video that [...]

    New Dodgeball Video

Some of these guys know how to dodge a wrench and a ball… not to mention throwing that thing 50 mph! This was one of my most effective time put in to quality of output ratios – I had a lot of fun making this little vid. I basically shot for half the day while I was attending a dodgeball tournament in Virginia Beach. My girlfriend played on her brother’s team called Sliced Bread and as you can see, they’re [...]

    Auto Shop Commercial

This is an overview commercial I created for the good people at Precision Auto in Germantown, MD. I wanted to highlight the high quality facility, trustworthy atmosphere, and honest work they embody. I used the Canon 60D with a 18-135mm lens & a 50mm lens along with a Blackbird steadicam. Everything was edited in Final Cut Pro 7.

Human Powered Machinery and the Forest

Ever since college I’ve loved mountain biking. There’s something fantastic about zooming through the woods on two wheels powered only by your legs and sometimes gravity. If you get going fast enough, the leaves and trees move by so quickly that everything turns into a blend of lush colors and vivid sounds. You can be so focused on maneuvering your body and your bike that you become one object of movement – everything else washes away. This can be one of [...]
